The Kid asked for the return of Friday Food Fun, going so far as to redo the "Where Shall We Eat Jar" with new restaurants and a new label for the jar, so I guess it's back!
The jar is a bit more fun for me this time around since she took on the task of writing the names of the restaurants down. Our first attempt at pulling the choice was a bit unsuccessful - I picked Mad Mango first (which would be great except they aren't open for dinner) and second Gio Bean Espresso (another great choice, but not for dinner). Third time was a charm though and we pulled Dunn Enzies Pizza from the jar.
Dunn Enzies is a long time Kelowna favourite that has recently opened a second location in the Landmark area of Kelowna (the first location is downtown on Ellis). Landmark of course is close to where I work so this was a fantastic choice as I got to research another possible lunch option for when my contract starts back up in September.
Although the information online says that it was pick up and delivery, the Landmark location does have seating, both inside and outside. They also have pizza by the slice (also not on the menu posted online). We decided to have a slice and a drink eat. The Kid went traditional with a pepperoni and I went with one of the their signature pizzas - Joey the Butcher. My slice had pepperoni, Italian sausage, ground beef, ham, and mozza.
Slices are HUGE, tasty, and definitely affordable. Our meal cost us under $15 - two slices and two drinks.
The staff were really friendly and I liked the atmosphere, very bright and spacious. I'm looking forward to visiting more often over the school year for a quick lunch and The Kid is already trying to convince me that I need to pick up pizza on Synchronized Swimming nights so that I don't need to cook anything!
